Vista introduced a new security feature, User Account Control (UAC). User Account Control is designed to reduce your computer’s risk of being attacked. User Account Control runs Windows in standard user mode. If administrative privileges are required for a task, you can elevate your privileges. This basically means that software can’t be installed without your consent. Likewise, you must give permission before certain changes are made on the computer.
